Age Policy
To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, Oceania Cruises enforces minimum age requirements for infants and minors.
- Infant Minimum Age Requirements
Infants must be at least 6 months old on the day of embarkation. For cruises that include three or more consecutive days at sea, infants must be a minimum of 12 months old at the time of boarding. Guests traveling with infants who do not meet these age requirements will be denied boarding, and no refunds, credits, or compensation will be provided to the affected guests. - Policy for Minors Under 18
Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult aged 18 or older and must share the same stateroom accommodations. The accompanying adult is fully responsible for the supervision, behavior, and well-being of the minor throughout the cruise or cruisetour. - Parental Responsibility and Supervision
Oceania Cruises does not offer childcare, youth programs, or supervised children’s activities. All accompanying adults agree to supervise minors at all times and ensure compliance with all onboard policies, rules, and safety regulations.
By sailing with Oceania Cruises, guests acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any minors in their care and agree to indemnify and hold the cruise line harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from the presence or actions of minors during the voyage.
This policy helps maintain Oceania Cruises’ refined onboard environment while ensuring the safety of all guests.
Dining Information
Oceania Cruises offers open-seating dining with no fixed meal times. Guests may dine when and where they choose across multiple gourmet venues. All specialty restaurants are included, and reservations are recommended but flexible. Casual dining options and in-suite dining are also available.
Fuel Surcharge Policy
Oceania Cruises does not routinely apply fuel surcharges. In the event of extraordinary fuel cost increases, the cruise line reserves the right to impose a fuel supplement, as outlined in the guest ticket contract.
Payments / Refunds
- Deposit Requirements
To confirm an Oceania Cruises reservation, a per-person, per-cruise deposit is required. For Owner’s, Vista, and Oceania Suites, the deposit is 20% of the applicable cruise fare. For all other stateroom and suite categories, the required deposit is $500 per person. Grand Voyages require a $1,500 per person deposit.
For reservations made more than 150 days before sailing, deposits must be received within five days of booking. Reservations made 90 to 120 days prior to departure require full payment within three days of booking, while bookings made 90 days or less before sailing require full payment by the end of the booking day. Any reservation not paid according to these timelines will be automatically canceled. - Final Payment Schedule
Unless otherwise stated, final payment for cruises shorter than 15 days and those 15 days or longer is due 150 days prior to departure. Oceania Cruises reserves the right to cancel any booking not fully paid by the final payment deadline.
At the time of final payment, guests must submit passport information and any special onboard service requests. - Accepted Forms of Payment
Payments may be made by personal check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. For added convenience, final payment may be automatically charged to the credit card used for the initial deposit. Oceania Cruises is not responsible for any foreign transaction or processing fees charged by issuing banks. Third-party credit card payments require cardholder authorization. - Deposit & Payment Policy for 180-Day Voyages
For voyages lasting 180 days, a 20% deposit of the cruise fare is required for all staterooms and suites and must be received within seven days of booking. Final payment is due no later than 181 days prior to departure, along with passport details and special service requests. Failure to meet the payment deadline may result in immediate cancellation and penalties. - Cancellation Policy Overview
All cancellations must be submitted in writing and received by Oceania Cruises before cancellation penalties apply. The cruise fare includes the total cost of cruise and air arrangements purchased through Oceania Cruises, excluding optional facilities and service fees.
For Penthouse Suites and below (excluding Around the World Cruises), cancellation fees increase progressively based on proximity to departure, beginning with a modest administrative fee when canceled far in advance and rising to 100% of the cruise fare within 60 days of sailing.
For Owner’s, Vista, and Oceania Suites, cancellation penalties also escalate based on sailing date, with higher early cancellation fees reflecting the premium nature of these accommodations. - Policies for Bookings Made Prior to September 1, 2023
For cruises 1 to 14 days, administrative fees apply for early cancellations, followed by increasing percentage penalties beginning 90 days prior to departure. For cruises 15 days or longer, similar escalating penalties apply, beginning earlier in the booking timeline.
For premium suites, early administrative fees are replaced with percentage-based penalties depending on cruise length. - Around the World Cruises
Around the World Cruise cancellations carry higher penalties, beginning with a per-person fee shortly after booking and escalating to 100% of the cruise fare within 90 days of departure. For Owner’s and Vista Suites, early cancellation penalties are calculated as a percentage of the fare paid.
Failure to appear at embarkation or failure to submit written cancellation notice will result in a 100% cancellation fee. - Cancellation Fees for Optional Services
Additional cancellation penalties apply to optional facilities and services, including pre- and post-cruise hotel stays, land packages, overland tours, shore excursions, transfers, visa services, culinary experiences, and air arrangements. Many of these services become non-refundable between 36 and 90 days prior to departure, depending on the service type.
Guests are strongly encouraged to review the Oceania Cruises Guest Ticket Contract for complete terms and conditions.
Smoking Policy
For the safety, comfort, and well-being of all guests and crew, Oceania Cruises enforces a strict smoking policy throughout its ships. To maintain a clean, healthy, and fire-safe environment, smoking is prohibited in all indoor public areas, including dining venues, elevators, entertainment lounges, the casino, and all guest suites and staterooms—verandas included.
Smoking is permitted only in clearly designated outdoor and lounge areas and must be limited to those locations at all times. This policy applies to cigarettes, cigars, pipes, electronic cigarettes, and vaping devices.
- Designated Smoking Areas by Ship
On Vista and Allura, smoking is allowed in the Smoking Lounge on Deck 14 (starboard side) and in the outdoor Pool Deck area on Deck 12 (starboard forward). Cigar and pipe smoking are permitted in both locations.
On Marina and Riviera, guests may smoke in the Horizons lounge on Deck 15 (portside corner near the entrance) and in the outdoor Pool Deck area on Deck 12 (starboard forward). Cigar and pipe smoking is permitted only on the outdoor Pool Deck.
On Regatta, Nautica, Insignia, and Sirena, smoking is allowed in Horizons on Deck 10 (portside corner near the entrance) and in the outdoor Pool Deck area on Deck 9 (starboard forward). Cigar and pipe smoking is permitted only in the designated outdoor Pool Deck areas. - Important Policy Notes
All areas not specifically identified as smoking zones are strictly smoke-free. Smoking inside staterooms, suites, or on private verandas is considered a serious fire hazard and is strictly prohibited.
Guests who violate the Oceania Cruises Smoking Policy may be subject to a cleaning and recovery fee, additional charges for any damage caused to furnishings or ship structures, and possible disembarkation at the next port of call.
We appreciate your cooperation in following this policy, which helps ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable cruise experience for everyone aboard.
