Drink Packages & Wifi: Is the “All-Inclusive” Upgrade worth it?

One of the most debated topics at the dinner table is whether to “go all-in” on a cruise bundle. In 2026, the major cruise lines have leaned heavily into “all-inclusive” style upgrades, like Princess Premier, Celebrity’s All Included, and NCL’s Free at Sea.

But at prices ranging from $60 to over $100 per person, per day, is it a savvy investment or just a fancy way to overpay? At TopCruiseDeals.com, we’ve crunched the numbers so you don’t have to. Here is the 2026 reality of drink packages and Wi-Fi.

The Drink Package Math: What’s Your Break Even?

In 2026, the average cost for a single cocktail onboard is $14–$17 (plus tip). If a drink package costs you $85 per day, you need to consume about 6 to 7 cocktails daily just to break even.

Wait! It’s not just about the alcohol. Savvy travelers remember that these packages usually include:

• Specialty Coffees: Lattes and cappuccinos ($5–$7 each).
• Fresh Juices & Smoothies: ($7–$9 each).
• Bottled Water & Sodas: ($4–$5 each).
• Energy Drinks: ($6–$7 each).

If you’re someone who starts the day with a double latte, stays hydrated with bottled water by the pool, and enjoys a glass of wine with dinner followed by a nightcap, you’ll likely hit that break even point before the sun even goes down.

Wi-Fi in 2026: Starlink is the New Standard

Gone are the days of “buffering” at sea. By 2026, almost every major line has fully integrated Starlink or similar high speed satellite tech.

• The Cost: If purchased a la carte, expect to pay $25–$35 per day for a single device.
• The Catch: Many “basic” Wi-Fi packages only allow social media and email. If you want to stream Netflix or FaceTime the grandkids, you’ll need the Premium/Streaming tier.
• Our Take: If you’re traveling as a couple and both need Wi-Fi, the “All-Inclusive” bundles often provide multi-device discounts that make the upgrade much more attractive.

The 2026 “Bundle” Face-Off

Many lines now offer tiered upgrades that include drinks, Wi-Fi, and even gratuities. Let’s look at the two most popular from Princess Cruise Lines:

The Verdict: If you are a family or a power user who needs multiple devices and loves high end dining, the Premier level is a massive value. If you just want the peace of mind of “tips and sips” being covered, the Plus level is the savvy sweet spot.

Important 2026 “Fine Print” Updates

• Private Island Perk: After a brief period of confusion, Norwegian (NCL) and Royal Caribbean have confirmed that their drink packages do work on their private islands (Great Stirrup Cay and CocoCay). However, at Carnival’s Celebration Key, your “Cheers!” package generally does not apply, you’ll pay out of pocket for drinks there!
• The “Everyone in the Cabin” Rule: Most lines still require that if one adult in a cabin buys a drink package, all adults in that cabin must buy it. This is a deal breaker for some, so check with your Cruise Advisor first.
